Organisation

Many regional organisations of potters were formed to promote standards, primarily in Studio made Domestic Pottery. They often had a Guild type of structure with assessment of work being a pre-requisite of membership. As Ceramics has developed into a much more diverse range of activities the role of the organisations has shifted to one much more focused on education and encouragement to those wishing to take up ceramics either as a hobby or professionally. In view of these changing perspectives we recently reviewed and updated our constitution:

A few points need bringing to the attention of members. Firstly, our membership year, financial year and AGM have been aligned to simplify reporting and administration. Membership dues are payable in February and membership will run for 1 year from 1st March. The next AGM will be in January 2019. Membership is open to anyone. It is hoped that a number of issues have been clarified by this revised constitution. If any member wishes to propose further alterations you should notify the Chair (Bev Bell-Hughes) at least 10 days prior to the next AGM.
